Last night the following statement was released on the band's official web site. "As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same." Bob Bryar replaced Matt Pelissier, My Chemical Romance's original drummer, in 2004 following a tour of Japan. Bob Bryar was the drummer for the highly successful The Black Parade album.

There has been no official word on a reason for Bob Bryar's departure. However, MTV reports that some have said that the departure is related to a recent argument between Bryar and the rest of the band. Bob Bryar was the only member of My Chemical Romance who did not hail from New Jersey. He grew up in the Chicago area. Prior to joining My Chemical Romance, Bob Bryar was a sound technician for The Used. There is no word yet on a replacement drummer.
