nova0311 said in the Chicago Tribune Forum:
Bring him on, but not for the reason that Arklow and rest of the Manny haters say. Soriano is a joke. He's arguably Jim Hendry's biggest mistake (a certain Japanese right fielder also comes to mind for that "honor"). Al-whiff-o refuses to hustle and stands to admire weak fly balls. He swings for the fences on the first pitch, usually with two out after the pitcher just ran hard down to first and really needs a few pitches to catch his breath. If he won't move out of the leadoff spot, get rid of him. (Why is it HIS choice where he bats, anyway? Isn't it the manager's job to make out the lineup card?) Manny's defense isn't much better, but the attitude is far better. I know, that's kinda funny to say that about Manny, but we all saw what he did for the Dodgers' clubhouse. They were sleepwalking to another 2nd place finish before he showed up. I say trade them straight up and let the Dodgers deal with Soriano's drama.
