An official statement on the club's website read :<br>

"Sporting vice chairman Sandro Rosell and director Josep M Bartomeu announced Thursday in a letter to the club they were resigning as directors of FC Barcelona."<br>
<br>
Earlier in the week Jordi Mones, the club's head of medical services, also resigned although it's not known if the resignations were related. The director's are thought to be unhappy (!) with the direction of the club under President Joan Laporta.
